Resuming the podcasts?
Sat 23 May 2009 – 1.33
I never stated it outright, but I basically stopped doing the podcast. My initial ambition was to do a weekly show. Then bi-weekly. Then monthly. Then 10 episodes per year. And in 2008, I only produced 3 episodes. So far in 2009 I haven’t even attempted the podcast.
The reason I stopped seems rather selfish but it’s also quite practical — too much effort for virtually no feedback. If anyone out there has ever tried to produce a podcast, you know where I’m coming from. And doing the operation by myself requires me to be the producer, host, webmaster, engineer, editor, and PR guy. That’s a lot of work for something that very often gets zero comments and downloads numbering something around 12. It’s hard to stay motivated when everyone has abandoned me.
But I was just randomly listening to selections from previous episodes, and these things are funny as hell. Maybe I should start recording more conversations in my life and posting them randomly. Fuck editing, fuck bookmarks. Just conversations. No topics, no re-dos. What do you we think?

Give it a try and see what happens. The bookmarks are probably more effort than they’re worth anyway.
I will say though that people are nosy buggers and so photos of people on the podcast would be good (like KATG), ideally on location if applicable.

Do it. Why not? People often don’t give feedback simply because they are lazy. If it’s funny, then you should do it for sure

I actually only discovered twentyhood a few months ago and had wondered what had happened to the podcasts. In any case, I have really enjoyed listening and many of episodes really ring true (like Year Zero). Totally understand about the pressures of time, but you’ve got me listening.

I’ve been coming back to the site every few weeks hoping for a new podcast for over a year. Do SOMETHING! Please!

I say go for it man. I actually ran across this site by accident while I was trying to find something on Veronica Belmont…….anyway that’s besides the point.
Do it, see where it goes and decide from there.
I’m heading to Australia this September for a year and my girlfriend wanted to begin a video podcast of her dressed in a lion suit, something a mascot would wear, while she exudes her random thoughts and rants. She plans on putting some of her post to video, http://toyahslife.wordpress.com/ ,but just like you we’re going to see where it takes us and if others care to weigh in also.

I think I wrote you a while ago about your podcasts! I’m a big fan! And I support any type of recording you want to do whether its a podcast, or a conversation… or whatever!
You sound like a really nice guy and I laugh and enjoy your comments, ramblings and such.
And if you decide not to, I will respect that as well.
Good luck!

Do it! I discovered it after the lapse, and sadly unsubscribed in a general purge of defunct podcasts. But I just thought about it for some reason, googled “twentyhood” and found this. I’d be a loyal listener. Go for it!
