How Millennial Are You?
Fri 26 Feb 2010 – 14.21

This crap has been going around the Internet for a while, but I thought I’d report on it. Pew Research has cooked up a little online quiz where users may determine for themselves how “Millennial” they are. That is, how much they have in common with us, the generation born after 1981. (nevermind that some of us in that age range already have kids in middle school!)
I’m 86. Probably would have been more if I had a tattoo or if I had played video games in the last 24 hours. Dunno if my parents’ marriage negatively affect my Millennial-ness, but that’s also a question.
Go take the test for yourself ยป
A study from The Oracle in synthesizes these and similar results, concluding that Millennials are more liberal, more confident, but less employed. And presumably more depressed. Or maybe that’s just me.

This is hilarious that we think an entire generation can be determined by 14 questions. I was born in ’82 and scored a 59! I am to believe that I don’t fit in b/c I don’t watch TV, read a newspaper, and don’t play video games. Ridiculous. PEW normally has some good research going but this is just bad. Fun to take but doesn’t say much (in my opinion…which I have b/c I’m a millenial!)

I scored a 90! I think it helped that I played my Nintendo DS last night (a little NYT crosswords action), which means I played video games in the last 24 hours. Otherwise my score would have been 82. Born in ’84, FYI.
I don’t know what this all means about me…
Interestingly, if you go to the section where you can change your answers to change the scores, some are opposite of what I would have thought…my score goes up if I DIDN’T watch TV.
